I graduated with a BA (Hons) in graphic design, and spent my formative years as an art director. So I have a high quality threshold for aesthetics and attention to detail in all my work. But as I matured as a practitioner, writing became a core part of my craft, and every bit as essential in the generation, articulation and execution of big ideas, as design. To this end, I am as comfortably happy writing scripts, strategies, manifestoes and thought pieces as I am creating the graphic language of a brand.
My background is primarily non-traditional, having started in Brand Activation, and Retail agencies. These fast-paced environments demanded a business-problem-solving "media anything, idea everything" approach. I therefore have considerable experience across multiple channels including; Experiential, Promotional, Retail, Direct, Broadcast, Social, Content, PR and Interactive. And my expertise spans B2B, B2C and D2C.
Fundamental to my leadership style is constant, cogent, clear and simple direction and communication. I enjoy the writing and storytelling of a great presentation, whether it's an internal company "show & tell", client pitch, or a speaking slot at industry events, schools and universities. To this end, I frequently mentor the next generation of creative leaders and champion neurodiversity - having learned to cope with dyslexia since a very young age myself.
In 2020, I completed my first MiniMBA in marketing to truly understand what matters to marketers, and how to make my own creative work and leadership more effective.
